I have over 4 years experience of web development and image editing using a number of different technologies. My work has involved developing websites through a number of stages, from working with the client in developing a design document, producing page templates and wire frame designs to delivering the finished product in the agreed timeframe.

In addition to being proficient in hand coding HTML, I am also experienced in using Dreamweaver for initial layout, developing templates and integrating dynamic elements such as animated navigation systems. I possess an excellent knowledge of Photoshop and have used this to visualise my professional design work developing page layouts, navigation elements and incorporating external images for use on the web.

In my position as junior web developer at JKD I worked as part of a team of 3 working on www.waitrose.com to bring accessibility up to WAI standards. This involved Hand coding of over 6000 pages in HTML and Testing in IE5.5 & 6.0, Opera 7.2, Netscape 5 and Lynx browsers. In my position at Peabody Trust I headed a team of 5 involved in the design and production of the Peabody Trusts Youth Services website. This project involved using Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Illustrator to build the site and JavaScript for advanced interaction i.e. form validation, rollover images and animation. In addition I have re-designed the North Kensington SRB website to achieve WAI level 1 specifications, this included ensuring the directory structure was correct, that all images had relevant ALT tags and all tables had headers. Previous commissions have included designing an online cycling memorabilia shop and www.clinnix.net an online medical information service for the NHS. I have also produced an ASP driven personal project on the history of Formula 1 racing www.motorsporthistory.co.uk and a community history site for a village in Suffolk, www.weeting-history.2itb.com.

My roles at JKD, Peabody Trust and Synigence Plc have helped my personal development with regards to effective communication skills. In my position at Peabody Trust I had to liase with heads of the Youth Services department, visiting youth centres to obtain feedback and delegating tasks amongst team members. I also attended the Digital Learning Ring centre in Hackney once a week to offer support as well as deliver training to approximately 30 trainees throughout the day. This involves writing and delivering course material, using various methodologies including role-plays and group work.

My technical competencies include HTML and Dreamweaver that I have used in numerous professional projects for laying out templates, page updates and site builds. I have used Photoshop to produce storyboards, banners and concept designs. I have also used Illustrator and Fireworks for all graphical navigation elements. I have used JavaScript and VBScript for all interactive elements, including rollovers, form validation and dynamic navigation elements, for example button and menu systems.

I have had to learn to prioritise and manage my own workload depending on the requirements of the project and my team. This ensures deadlines are met, and quality procedures are adhered to. I am always willing to train and help others as I have done in my previous employment especially Peabody Trust.
