The Print Room

In 2000, after ten years involvment in both traditional fine art and digital printing techniques, Ian cartwright founded The Print Room. It has quickly become established as a printing house, which incorporates the latest technology within a traditional printmaking approach, leading to successful collaborations with artists and photographers. He has produced images for major exhibitions by David Bailey, Linda McCartney and the British Council and his prints for Richard Hamilton, Helen Chadwick and Giles Revell have been acquired by the Tate, Victoria & Albert and British Museums.
Dramatic improvements in inks, the introduction of Piezo Technology and a wider choice of papers now mean The Print Room can provide artists with high quality images combined with the highest archival standards and is recommended by the Fine Art Trade Guild for high quality printing.

The Print Room uses 7 pigmented ink system and would recommend to use 100% cotton acid free paper with external coating, to ensure good absorption of the ink and high control of the print quality at the same time. The print would last at least 100 years if exposed to light, humidity etc... and much longer if archived in darkness.
